Computer Systems Administrator II - IT Ops Systems - On Site Work Schedule - Anchorage, AK

About the role

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Information Systems Manager, this role is responsible for the engineering, management, and support of a complex multi-tiered, interdependent server ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Provides systems administration technical expertise in support of network, communications, and core business functions.
  • Evaluates end user needs, goals, budgets in conjunction with application parameters to define overall system requirements and technical design.
  • Installs, monitors, and manages servers and customer end-points, resolves issues as needed.
  • Installs system and application patches and performs system backups and recovery.
  • Maintains system configuration and manages log files.
  • Develops user guides, technical procedures, and technical architecture documentation.
  • Ensures system security through proactive security patch management.
  • Collaborates with Information Systems Security Officer to ensure implementation of industry best-practice system architecture.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains organization's email system.
  • Establishes user accounts and security guidelines, tracks server performance, and provides tier 2 resolution for issues.
  • Maintains and optimizes existing messaging infrastructure to ensure quality user experience.
  • Documents internal policies or develops training for end-users.
  • Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers and analyzing department applications, programming, and operations.
  • Recommends optimal user access techniques.
  • Coordinates installation requirements.
  • Ensures optimal database performance by calculating most efficient values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware platforms.
  • Generates usage reports for submission to leadership.
  • Supports telehealth server workstation, peripheral, medical device hardware and software.
  • Builds, configures, and manages all telehealth servers and workstations.
  • Installs operating systems and software applications.
  • Implements security systems, solutions, and procedures for development, test, and staging servers and clients.
  • Tests, analyzes, implements, and documents secure configuration solutions into the building, deployment, upgrade, and maintenance process for Telehealth servers and workstations.
  • Manages upgrades and continually monitors all production telehealth servers for performance, business continuity, disaster discovery, and security.
  • Builds and deploys server and multi-client images support, including wireless, in conjunction with software and hardware product development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or related field.
  • Non-supervisory five (5) years of progressively complex information technology and system administration experience.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (highly preferred).
  • Infrastructure/Data Private Cloud / Office 365 Communications/Messaging VMware Datacenter Engineer (preferred).
  • Cloud Automation Datacenter Virtualization Cyber Security (preferred).
  • Mobile Device Management (preferred).
  • RedHat Linux (preferred).
  • ITIL V3 foundations Certification (preferred).

Skills

  • Knowledge in Cloud Design and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in multi-tiered SAN, NAS, and direct-attached SAS including ISCSI, Ethernet, and FC protocols.
  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems to include mobile devices.
  • Knowledge in networking technology, security guidelines, industry standards, and practices.
  • Knowledge of business operations, maintenance, metrics, and goals.
  • Knowledge in strong problem research and resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer system software programs.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality rules and regulations and HIPAA Privacy Act.
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3.
  • Skilled in working in an enterprise, multi-tiered, interdependent environment.
  • Skilled in complex multi-level system design to ensure cohesive implementation.
  • Skilled in managing large complex projects simultaneously to meet mission critical objectives.
  • Skilled in analyzing complex data and developing practical solutions to meet business needs.
  • Skilled in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks and customer demands with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in customer service concepts and practices while working in a team of teams.
  • Skilled in Industry Standards for Service Lifecycle Design and Management.
  • Skilled in Active Directory design, implementation, and system administration.
  • Skilled in demonstrated hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.
  • Skilled in writing system automation scripts to include PowerShell, Visual Basic, or batch.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Skilled in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
