About the role

The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Systems Development subdivision is looking for a motivated engineer to join our team in the Hardware Building Block Engineering unit, I&C Hardware Development unit, or Integration and Support Engineering unit. In this role, the successful candidate would join a team of engineers who are responsible for driving the development, schedule, delivery, and troubleshooting efforts for an extensive catalog of Hardware Building Block (HWBB) components that are used throughout the submarine and aircraft carrier fleets. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on this important technology and drive innovative improvements to I&C equipment design while directly supporting the current and future fleets.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain functional requirements for HWBB components
  • Perform hands-on laboratory testing of HWBB components
  • Work with system integrators to incorporate HWBB technology into plant designs
  • Troubleshoot emergent issues related to HWBB components
  • Interface with system owners and designers, equipment prime contractors, component vendors, and Naval Reactors personnel
  • Assist with or lead overall development efforts for HWBB components

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Preferred Skills

  • GPA of at least 3.0/4.0
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with writing or testing functional requirements
  • Reactor Plant I&C design or operating experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Pay

$63,900.00 – $97,800.00 annually. Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
