About the role

This position involves teaching Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) classes. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating student learning and adhering to the college's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes in Computer Aided Design and Drafting
  • Initiate and participate in efforts to improve student success
  • Assess learning outcomes and teaching effectiveness
  • Maintain licensure and certifications as applicable
  • Adhere to ethical standards of the profession
  • Apply current research and theory to instructional programs
  • Plan and implement lessons based on division and college objectives
  • Establish and maintain collegial relationships with students, peers, staff, and administrators
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Aided Design, Applied Science, Industrial/Technical, Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 30 credit hours in Computer Aided Design & Drafting specialty courses from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years work experience in the field of design and/or engineering, directly involved with the application of CAD tools to create products, structures, machines, or tooling
  • Professional experience with CATIA
  • Understanding of and commitment to community college teaching, mission, and philosophy
  • Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching style and understanding of diverse student needs
  • Ability to integrate computer applications into teaching

Qualifications

  • Professional experience with Software packages including Unigraphics, SolidWorks, and AutoCad
  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Certification in CADD software packages
  • College teaching experience
  • Familiarity with competency-based modularized courseware and instruction

Pay

$1,124 per contact hour

Schedule

While part-time faculty are not required to hold regular office hours during the semesters they teach, they are required to make provisions for student consultations as may be necessary and reasonable.
