Core Responsibilities
- Perform base builds and logical configuration of servers following hardware installation.
- Configure IP addressing, VLANs, network interface card (NIC) bonding, and connectivity within Cisco-based networking environments.
- Validate server configuration, hardware visibility, and network connectivity while applying standardized build templates.
- Prepare servers for application deployment and testing by downstream teams.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi and vCenter.
- Provision and maintain virtual machines while optimizing compute capacity, performance, and availability.
- Support VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), backup, and disaster recovery processes.
- Coincide firmware and BIOS updates, support server lifecycle management, and assist with vendor hardware remediation activities.
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages and version-controlled tools.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow established corporate change management procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Four or more years of experience supporting data center compute infrastructure.
- Hands-on proficiency with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Practical experience working within Cisco networking environments, specifically with VLANs, IP configuration, and NIC teaming or bonding.
- Strong fundamental understanding of server hardware, firmware, and overall system lifecycle management.
- Core system administration experience with Windows Server, Linux, or both operating systems.
- Experience utilizing Git or equivalent version control platforms.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Solid knowledge of high availability, data backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in the English language.
