Compute Engineering Lead

About the role

This senior, hands-on leader will own compute architecture, implementation and governance. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Portfolio Managers and other business stakeholders to understand their needs and enable them to efficiently use on-premises compute resources.

Responsibilities

• Scale and harden our compute infrastructure to provide a robust and resilient environment for researchers and investment professionals.
• Leverage both open and closed source software solutions.
• Partner with application developers across the firm and enable their success.
• Participate in on-call rotation and maintenance.

Core Tech Stack

• Kubernetes on bare metal Linux.
• RPM-based Linux distro.

Qualifications

Skills

• 10+ years, hands-on experience with large-scale compute environments.
• Experience with software low latency environments.
• 5+ years people management experience.
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes from the infrastructure and application points of view.
• Experience managing bare metal compute at scale.
• IP network performance tuning and routing experience.
• Comfortable writing Python.
• Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
