Job Summary
Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Engineering Manager who will design and implement Utility grade, industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical power systems.
Job Duties
- Leads the engineering and project management efforts on assigned projects and is responsible for coordinating the individual Engineering Disciplines such that the most cost-effective total project solution for executing engineering work is achieved
- Ensures that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule, meets quality standards including review meetings and checking procedures, performance is within the baseline man-hour and material budgets, required deliverables are produced and change management is executed in a timely manner
- Reviews the status of the schedule and progress performance with the Clients on a regular basis, and keep the General Managers apprised of issues
- Ensures the quality of the engineering execution and deliverables
- Participates in people development through mentoring, development of training material, and conducting or training seminars
- Coordinates and develops structural and electrical documents for the scope of work definition, specification, data sheets, equipment selection, drawing review, schematic development, wiring diagrams, physical layout drawings, and project close-out procedures for low to medium-voltage industrial power distribution systems
- Prepares and reviews purchase orders for various electrical equipment
- Coverage with the GM, MM and quality control inspector for Power Distribution Centers and control enclosure buildings
- Coordinate third party inspections of all required projects
- Oversee all state inspection submissions and approvals and insure they are completed in a timely manner
- Coordinate third party inspections of all required projects
- Oversee all building shipments, loading, offloading, and site installations to insure successful project completion
- Aid with inventory tracking and proper charges offs to projects before shipment
- Aid GM as needed with other activities including sales, site visits, R&D, purchasing, estimating, etc. as needed
Requirements
- AS or higher in Electrical Engineering required
- Ten or more years of experience in electrical design and engineering required
- Five or more years of experience in managing project managers and junior engineers required
- Five or more years of product knowledge of key electrical components of a Protection & Control Panel (SEL, Electroswitch, test switches, etc.) required
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
- Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges required
- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
- Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
