Primary Purpose
Executes a wide range of routine operating tasks, applying established methods to keep equipment available and data accurate.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Starts, stops, and operates compressor units and auxiliary systems; adjusts within prescribed limits to maintain flow and pressure.
- Performs routine checks on engines, compressors, separators, coolers, and dehydration equipment; documents results.
- Replaces basic components (filters, gaskets) and replenishes fluids following standard procedures.
- Uses supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to verify operating status and enter notes as directed.
- Collections gas samples or moisture readings when required and routes them or logs per procedure.
- Responds to routine alarms by executing predefined steps and communicating conditions to senior personnel.
- Assists with planned maintenance windows (equipment preparations, isolation support, post-start checks).
- Maintains tidy tool and parts areas; updates inventory counts for consumables used during routine tasks.
- Participates in the safe installation of instrumentation and electrical components, and troubleshoots issues with control systems, complex equipment, reciprocating compressors, gas storage equipment, generators, and gas chromatography systems.
- Maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize the use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs, and also maintains advanced monitoring devices.
- Performs preventive and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and associated components and plans upcoming projects and tasks.

Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Compressor Station Operations: Manage and maintain compressor stations to enhance the reliability and efficiency of gas transmission. Key activities include monitoring performance, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Corrosion Control: Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
- Inspection Management: A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
- Maintenance Management: Management of activities such as repair work, servicing, replacing, inspecting and testing.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management: The systematic approach to maintain health and safety at occupation and protect the environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
- Emergency Response Management: The coordination and management of resources and responsibilities pertaining to the mitigation of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from an emergency.
- Project/Program Management: The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
- Documentation & Records Management: Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.
- Root Cause Analysis: The process of discovering the root causes of problems in order to identify appropriate solutions.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Able to read P&ID and electrical diagrams, as well as other complex electrical drawings; interprets plant electrical diagrams and updates electrical drawings.
- Able to run conduit, pull wire, replace motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
- Possesses substantial knowledge of mechanical principles and demonstrates strong troubleshooting skills.
