Primary Purpose

Executes a wide range of routine operating tasks, applying established methods to keep equipment available and data accurate.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Starts, stops, and operates compressor units and auxiliary systems; adjusts within prescribed limits to maintain flow and pressure.
  • Performs routine checks on engines, compressors, separators, coolers, and dehydration equipment; documents results.
  • Replaces basic components (filters, gaskets) and replenishes fluids following standard procedures.
  • Uses supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to verify operating status and enter notes as directed.
  • Collections gas samples or moisture readings when required and routes them or logs per procedure.
  • Responds to routine alarms by executing predefined steps and communicating conditions to senior personnel.
  • Assists with planned maintenance windows (equipment preparations, isolation support, post-start checks).
  • Maintains tidy tool and parts areas; updates inventory counts for consumables used during routine tasks.
  • Participates in the safe installation of instrumentation and electrical components, and troubleshoots issues with control systems, complex equipment, reciprocating compressors, gas storage equipment, generators, and gas chromatography systems.
  • Maintains, modifies, and troubleshoots Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to maximize the use of control technology and minimize installation and operating costs, and also maintains advanced monitoring devices.
  • Performs preventive and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and associated components and plans upcoming projects and tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Typically requires 1 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Compressor Station Operations: Manage and maintain compressor stations to enhance the reliability and efficiency of gas transmission. Key activities include monitoring performance, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Corrosion Control: Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
  • Inspection Management: A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
  • Maintenance Management: Management of activities such as repair work, servicing, replacing, inspecting and testing.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management: The systematic approach to maintain health and safety at occupation and protect the environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Emergency Response Management: The coordination and management of resources and responsibilities pertaining to the mitigation of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from an emergency.
  • Project/Program Management: The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
  • Documentation & Records Management: Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: The process of discovering the root causes of problems in order to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to read P&ID and electrical diagrams, as well as other complex electrical drawings; interprets plant electrical diagrams and updates electrical drawings.
  • Able to run conduit, pull wire, replace motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
  • Possesses substantial knowledge of mechanical principles and demonstrates strong troubleshooting skills.
