Compressor Room Mechanic

Seneca Foods Corporation’s Glencoe, MN facility is seeking a Compressor Room Mechanic to join our team. The Glencoe facility focuses on canning and freezing peas, lima beans, sweet corn, and carrots, with peak production from mid-June through mid-November.

About the role

In Glencoe, we operate a full-time labeling department, frozen corn-on-the-cob packaging, field representatives for local growers, and a robust maintenance team that keeps production running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe operation of all freezers and refrigeration equipment
• Regulate product flow to maximize freezer output and ensure product quality
• Repair and maintain all freezing-related equipment; operate cold storage buildings; perform maintenance in other plant areas as needed
• Operate freezers and compressors as a Tunnel Operator; perform water testing; clean freezers and remove ice
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety rules/regulations are followed and enforced
• Keep accurate and timely records; prepare and follow up on issues in a timely manner
• Participate in employee relations, supervise, and train seasonal staff in the work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Willingness and ability to work and function in a team environment
• Good communication skills
• Good mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to attend night classes in refrigeration
• Expected to join the emergency response team

Pay

Starting wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour.
