Compressor Mechanic III

Location: Carlsbad, NM • Assignment Duration: 12 months+ • Locals only

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery (engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.)
• Help prepare proposals and cost estimates
• Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools
• Review job packs and identify any safety issues; ensure removal/mitigation prior to working
• Execute work as planned and record technical history (Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.)
• Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS
• Request permits and notify Supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested time

Requirements

• Discipline-appropriate certification(s) or equivalent professional experience
• Experience maintaining:
  • Caterpillar 3516 ULB, Caterpillar 3616 A4, Ariel reciprocating compressor JGT, JGC, KBZ frames
  • Diaphragm, centrifugal charge pumps, triplex, horizontal pumps
  • Sullair, Atlas Copco rotary screw air compressors
  • Vapor recovery units, natural gas rotary screw compressors
• Lifting and rigging experience; operation of overhead cranes and crane trucks
• Able to operate forklift and man lift
• Strong communication skills in English; ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend remediation steps
• Team player with willingness to assist others and work effectively with all team members
• Natural gas compressor station operation experience is a plus
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• High School diploma or GED required

Pay

$50/hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 50+ hours per week
