Composite Technician I
About the role
A composite technician at Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) performs various tasks related to the manufacture of composite parts for aircraft. The position involves laying up, braiding, and filament winding of composite materials, as well as other duties such as bonding dissimilar materials, applying bonding agents, and monitoring the quality of finished products.
Responsibilities
- Able to identify different process materials, prepregs, adhesives, and resins.
- Assist with cutting and kitting materials.
- Complete lay-ups using measuring instruments per shop orders, blueprints, or laser ply projectors.
- Vacuum bag basic shapes and sizes.
- Assist in loading autoclaves and/or ovens with the use of forklifts, cranes, or handling carts.
- Monitor and verify the quality of finished products.
- Complete repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A background check and drug test may be required.
Qualifications
Experience with composite materials, bonding agents, and adhesives is preferred. Knowledge of measuring instruments and assembly processes is beneficial.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
