Component Program Manager HP Workstations
Overview
We are seeking a Component Program Manager to own the program management aspects of critical workstation components, technologies, and processes. This role partners closely with electrical engineers who own technical design and validation, while independently driving schedule, logistics, vendor coordination, execution rigor, and cross-functional alignment across the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end program management for workstation power supplies, from early development through end of life.
Manage sample builds, logistics, and test readiness across vendors, ODMs, and internal engineering teams.
Coordinate with an Outside Design and Manufacturing (ODM) system integrator responsible for PSU integration at the system level.
Interface with multiple external PSU vendors, managing schedules, deliverables, documentation flow, and execution risks.
Partner with stakeholders across prototyping, certification, compliance, documentation, manufacturing, and product support to ensure product readiness and alignment.
Own program oversight of global power cords for workstations, ensuring correct regional variants and compliance.
Own the program management aspects of EMC readiness across workstation platforms.
Coordinate EMC testing execution performed by, or under the oversight of, ODM partners.
Ensure EMC testing, troubleshooting, and triage activities are planned effectively, executed on schedule, and escalated appropriately when issues arise.
Track EMC risks, readiness milestones, and corrective actions, partnering with engineering leaders for technical resolution.
Represent the technical design team in program team meetings and processes for sustaining programs.
Drive program plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and execution status across internal engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Own escalation and decision frameworks while leveraging subject-matter experts for technical depth.
Manage HP's internal System of Record for various components throughout the component lifecycle.
Interface with our onsite Material Science Lab to make sure that Workstation components meet quality, reliability, and environmental sustainability requirements.
Drive test plans and results. Interface with external partners to address issues.
Qualifications
Proven program management experience within hardware, systems, or technology product development.
Demonstrated success managing external vendors or manufacturing partners, including schedules, deliverables, and cross-company coordination.
Strong organizational, communication, and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Comfort working in technically complex environments.
Four-year Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
5–7+ years of experience in project or program management, preferably in a technical field.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $83,000.00 - $120,350.00 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
