Summary Of Job Functions
The Compliance Technology Engineer will support the Legal and Compliance department's technology needs, develop and maintain applications, and ensure compliance with regulations and security standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated technical ability
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Familiarity with application programming interfaces, web services, JSON, authentication concepts, and system integration
- Experience using Git or another source-control system
- Understanding of software-development fundamentals, including requirements analysis, debugging, testing, documentation, and maintainable code design
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with technical and nontechnical professionals
- Ability and willingness to learn financial-services, healthcare, privacy, cybersecurity, records-management, and other compliance concepts relevant to the company
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, document work carefully, and escalate unresolved issues appropriately
Preferred Skills And Previous Experience
- Experience developing web applications, APIs, or background services
- Familiarity with cloud application development and modern software-release practices (e.g., CI/CD, automated testing)
- Experience configuring or extending enterprise workflow, document-management, case-management, GRC, audit, or regulatory-reporting platforms
- Familiarity with identity and access management, application security, or data-governance concepts
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data pipelines
- Courses, internships, or demonstrated interest in financial services, healthcare, privacy, information security, risk management, or regulatory technology
- Prior professional compliance experience
