Compliance Specialist (Remote)

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting Neumo's compliance program, including submerchant onboarding and due diligence, transaction monitoring, compliance operations, vendor oversight, and compliance reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct KYB reviews of government entity submerchants.
  • Review onboarding documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform sanctions and watchlist screening reviews.
  • Aid with risk assessments and underwriting support.
  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts.
  • Escalate potentially suspicious activity to compliance management.
  • Document investigative findings and case outcomes.
  • Maintain monitoring records and supporting evidence.
  • Support complaint management and resolution tracking.
  • Maintain compliance records and reporting.
  • Aid with regulatory and sponsor bank requests.
  • Cook compliance-related audits and examinations.
  • Aid with policy and procedure maintenance.
  • Track vendor due diligence and ongoing review requirements.
  • Maintain vendor compliance documentation.
  • Cook periodic vendor assessments.
  • Prepare compliance reporting and management dashboards.
  • Track key compliance performance indicators.
  • Aid with board and management reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or the equivalent amount of related experience.
  • Prior experience in BSA/AML, KYB/KYC, underwriting, or payments compliance preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and merchant underwriting practices.
  • A moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • A moderate degree of analysis, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrate the principles of good customer service to all customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all company policies and/or regulations.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an open-floor office environment, in an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer. Employees are required to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods, work at the computer several hours a day, five days a week.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
  • Occasional movement around the office.
  • Frequent communication via telephone.
