We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to support employee leave, disability, accommodation, and return-to-work programs within a fast-paced HR service environment. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees, managers, and internal stakeholders, helping ensure a responsive, consistent, and compliant experience throughout the leave and accommodation process. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting leave administration, disability programs, accommodations, benefits, or other HR operations functions, along with strong customer service, organizational, and documentation skills. WORK ENVIRONMENTHybrid work arrangement based in Raleigh, NC.Onsite Tuesday through Thursday; remote Monday and Friday.Monday-Friday schedule, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST.Collaborative HR environment supporting employees and managers across multiple business functions. RESPONSIBILITIES Employee & Manager SupportServe as a primary point of contact for leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and return-to-work inquiries.Provide guidance on processes, required documentation, timelines, next steps, and available resources.Respond to employee and manager questions while ensuring a high level of professionalism, empathy, and customer service.Provide timely status updates and communications using established procedures and templates.Case Administration & CoordinationGather and review information and documentation related to leave and accommodation requests.Maintain accurate and confidential records within case management and HR systems.Coordinate case intake, assignment, tracking, and follow-up activities.Route cases appropriately based on established processes, business needs, and case complexity.Support administration of routine and lower-complexity cases while escalating higher-risk or more complex matters as needed.Documentation & ComplianceEnsure case documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.Perform audits and quality reviews of records, transactions, and documentation to ensure data accuracy.Review reports and identify discrepancies requiring correction or follow-up.Assist with record reconciliation activities related to leave administration, disability programs, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.Process Improvement & ReportingMonitor recurring employee questions, documentation issues, and service challenges.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and the overall employee experience.Assist with reporting, tracking metrics, and quality assurance activities.Support corrective actions and process improvements when discrepancies or service gaps are identified.Team Support & CollaborationPartner with HR, Benefits, Employee Relations, Payroll, Risk Management, and other internal teams to support service delivery.Assist with onboarding and training of new team members on systems, processes, and documentation requirements.Share knowledge and best practices to help maintain consistent service standards.Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational improvement initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, ORMaster's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.Experience supporting leave of absence, disability, accommodations, benefits, HR operations, employee relations, or related HR service functions.Preferred ExperienceLeave of absence administration.Disability and return-to-work programs.Workplace accommodations.HR shared services or employee support functions.HR case management and HRIS systems.Benefits administration and employee records management.
