Compliance-Salt Lake City-Analyst- Markets Surveillance

Key Responsibilities

• Detect and investigate potential market manipulation and other suspicious trading patterns.
• Analyze market-moving events and assess trading activity against established criteria.
• Support the development and review of new and existing automated surveillance models.
• Collaborate with various business units and technology teams to ensure robust trade monitoring systems.
• Work with the Anti-Money Laundering Group on trading-related investigations and potential escalations.
• Contribute to risk assessments by identifying emerging surveillance and conduct risks.
• Engage in ad hoc investigative projects involving complex trading scenarios.
• Participate in and lead working groups aimed at improving trade surveillance and control mechanisms.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with a variety of financial instruments, including equities, fixed-income securities, equity options, and derivatives like CDS and CFDs.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the use of Pivot tables and VLookup functions for handling large datasets.
• Experience in enhancing operational efficiency through the application of artificial intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to recognize and address risks effectively and propose strategic solutions.
• Expertise in Bloomberg, Reuters, and other market data platforms, along with a strong aptitude for conducting thorough research.
• A keen interest in capital markets, market structures, and financial news.
• The capability to communicate complex trading strategies and investigative findings in a clear and professional manner.
• A collaborative spirit and positive attitude towards teamwork.
• Interest in contributing to a global team managing diverse international businesses.
