Compliance Program Consultant, Mental Health Parity
About the role
The Compliance Program Consultant, Mental Health Parity plays a crucial role within Medica's Legal team. This role is dedicated to ensuring compliance with state and federal mental health parity laws through subject matter expertise and consultation. The consultant works closely with internal business leaders and external vendors to maintain compliance with specific treatment limitations and financial requirements.
Responsibilities
- Partner with internal business areas and external vendors to ensure compliance with mental health parity requirements for Quantitative Treatment Limitations, Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitations, and Financial Requirements.
- Draft and update the Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitation Comparative Analysis for multiple states, focusing on clinical NQTLs.
- Aid in the implementation of new laws or regulations related to mental health parity.
- Provide resources for mental health parity inquiries and training.
- Prepare mental health parity filings for regulators in multiple states and coordinate responses to regulatory questions and objections.
- Engage in the product development process to ensure products comply with mental health parity before filing with regulators.
- Participate in mental health parity-focused internal and external investigations, market conduct examinations, and audits.
- Respond to document requests for audits, conduct extensive research, and prepare comprehensive analyses and audit reports.
- Conduct assigned special projects, provide program support, and perform reporting.
- Assist in maintaining and implementing department policies, procedures, and work processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 5+ years of work experience beyond degree, with a specialty in mental health parity, experience in a clinical setting, and/or healthcare compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrable skills in collaborative teamwork.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Strong professional acumen.
Section
This position is an Office role requiring an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We consider candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN or Madison, WI.
Pay
The full salary grade for this position is $78,700 - $134,900. The typical hiring salary range is expected to be between $78,700 - $118,020. Annual salary range placement will depend on various factors including education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, position scope and responsibility, internal pay equity, and external market salary data.
Schedule
The position is an Office role, requiring an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week.
