Compliance Manager, Verification Programs (Dietary Supplements)

Brief Job Overview

This is a hands-on, non-supervisory position responsible for providing compliance management to the Verification Programs department. The incumbent manages certification/accreditation activities that impact Verification Programs, applicable documentation (SOPs, forms, manuals), and associated audits to meet program objectives and support USP's Mission. Additionally, this person assists with quality continuous improvement processes as well as Verification documentation reviews for Program participants. This is a "remote+" opportunity requiring onsite visits 1-3x/month in our Rockville, MD Headquarters, so must be within reasonable commuting distance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages certification and accreditation activities for the Verification Program.
  • Ensures compliance with and implementation of standards and schemes in which the Verification Program participates – (e.g., ISO 17020, ISO 17065, GRMA).
  • Aids in external and internal audits to maintain applicable certifications/accreditations, including monitoring of open audit observations.
  • Manages documentation (SOPs, forms, manuals) creation, revision, and archival for the Verification Program.
  • Assist with Verification Program documentation reviews for Program participants - quality control and manufacturing (QCM) records, GMP facility audit reports, and change requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in quality and/or regulatory compliance in the dietary supplement, nutraceutical, or food industries.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ASQ-CQA, RAC, PCQI).
  • Experience with ISO requirements, specifically ISO 9001, 17065, 17020, and/or 17025.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS), internal and external audits, and quality continuous improvement processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 21 CFR 111, 21 CFR 117, and GRMA requirements.
  • Ability to proactively identify and manage issues, risks, challenges, and barriers, with sound judgment on when to escalate; solutions-oriented mindset required.
  • High accountability and drive for results.
  • High level of proficiency with office technologies and computer applications including Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None, this is an individual contributor role.

Pay

  • Base Salary Range: USD $100,042.00 – $142,560 annually.
  • Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.
