Compliance Manager (Affordable Housing)
About the role
The Compliance Manager at Peabody Properties, Inc. is responsible for ensuring full compliance with affordable housing requirements within the company's portfolio. This role involves assisting sites in preparing for and responding to scheduled audits and inspections, monitoring timely recertifications, addressing EIV discrepancies, conducting annual property reviews, and staying updated on changes in forms, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist sites in preparation for and response to scheduled audits and inspections
- Monitor for timely completion of recertifications
- Determine valid or invalid EIV discrepancies
- Perform annual property reviews
- Understand and adhere to affordable housing, federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure property team members are informed about changing forms, policies, and procedures
Requirements
- 4+ years' experience in property management
- Proficiency in administering all current government housing assistance programs, particularly Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Project-Based Section 8
- Extensive knowledge of affordable housing, federal, state, and local housing regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail in document/file maintenance
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a wide audience
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
- Travel required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 4 years related property management experience
- Extensive knowledge of primary software used by Management Office (Onesite)
- Strong experience working with various subsidy programs including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Project-Based Section 8, and EIV
