About the role
The Compliance & Laboratory Manager will lead regulatory compliance programs, manage laboratory operations, and partner with engineering to ensure compliance and drive innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory compliance programs across applicable industry standards and certification requirements
- Manage laboratory operations, testing activities, equipment calibration, and certification readiness
- Develop and maintain quality management systems, compliance procedures, and internal controls
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, certification organizations, and external auditors
- Drive audit preparation, risk assessments, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Possess strong knowledge of industry standards such as UL, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, OSHA, or similar regulatory frameworks
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams to ensure compliance is integrated throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead laboratory personnel while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to maintain ongoing compliance
- Track compliance metrics and communicate performance and recommendations to leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related technical field
- 5-8+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality, or laboratory management
- Strong knowledge of industry standards such as UL, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, OSHA, or similar regulatory frameworks
- Previous leadership experience within a laboratory, quality, or technical environment
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
Qualifications
- Experience managing audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance programs
- Experience managing ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories
- Certified Quality Manager, ISO Lead Auditor, or similar professional certification
- Experience within manufacturing, electronics, refrigeration, or other regulated product industries
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems or commercial equipment products
