Founded in 2014, ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) serving students across the United States in brick-and-mortar, virtual, and hybrid school settings. We focus on improving academic outcomes of students regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic factors. The Compliance Coordinator supports school compliance to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and school policies. They will monitor school policies and documentation related to safety, student privacy, and operational programs and procedures. The coordinator conducts internal audits, prepares reports, and collaborates with schools and corporate teams. In collaboration with stakeholders, this position helps prevent, detect, and correct noncompliance. Applicants in New York, California, and Colorado are not eligible for this position. Job Responsibilities: Maintain compliance calendars, evidence requirements, submissions, and corrective-action plansMonitor student data, document management, and compliance for enrollment and attendanceTranslate requirements into practical checklists, workflows, training, documentation, and internal controlsMonitor school completion reports regarding school compliance training and support technical issues for school teams related to the compliance training platformCompile and analyze both internal and external information to prepare compliance audit data, including school websites, policies and procedures, and implementation of school lawMonitor existing and new legislation and advise school leadership on necessary actions to make sure the company complies with local, state, and federal legal requirementsCollect and coordinate internal compliance data with other departmentsImplement policies, procedures, and systems to provide administrative support to schoolsResearch questions regarding regulations to help other team members better understand and ensure complianceSupport the preparation and submission of authorization, partnership renewals, and new school proposalsMaintain audit trails, issue logs, decision records, approvals, corrective-action evidence, and continuity documentationProvide professional development and ongoing resources in compliance with guidelines, requirements, and standards for school leaders Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master's Degree PreferredProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite ProductsKnowledge of student data compliance, monitoring, corrective action, and reportingPrior experience working in a school setting preferredPrior experience managing law and regulation compliance, especially within educational settings, is preferred to ensure candidates understand the level of expertise required for this rolePrior experience creating and documenting procedures and workflowsAbility to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentialityDemonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethicAbility to manage difficult or emotional client situationsAbility to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicatedDemonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and/or company welfareDemonstrated leadership and management abilityExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure, effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistentlyCustomer service-orientedAbility to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members.Ability to work independently and contribute to a teamUnderstanding and ability to manage confidential informationAbility to lift 25 lbsAbility to pass federal and state criminal background checks Compensation and Benefits: The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. The annual starting salary for this position is between $55,000 – $70,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
