Compliance Assistant
About the role
The Compliance Assistant will support the Compliance Team by reviewing product contracts for procedural requirements, law changes, and limited submission types. The opportunity includes improving response time to clients by assisting in providing better service to product companies through supporting the Compliance Team in reviewing initial submissions, resubmissions, same or similar, and replica contract submissions. Additionally, the Compliance Assistant will review submissions for law changes and ensure procedural contract obligations are met.
Responsibilities
- Handle (electronic) product contract initial submissions, resubmission, same, similar submissions (SOS), replica, and law change submissions.
- Review contracts to determine whether contracts meet certain procedural requirements.
- Maintain organized files at all times.
- Affiliate with maintaining the legislative, regulatory, and litigation tracking system.
- Draft the monthly legislative newsletter.
- Affiliate with the Client Success Team when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand legal language, principles, and research methods
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to coordinate, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
Qualifications
- Prior Paralegal experience is preferred
Skills
Knowledge of legal principles and research methods, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, ability to manage multiple tasks, and a proactive approach to work.
