Responsibilities
- Performs various fiscal activities including, monitoring and submitting requisitions for supplies and materials, initiating purchase orders.
- Makes traveling and training arrangements.
- Participates in the annual budget development process by gathering data, compiling information, monitoring expenditures according to budget guidelines and ensuring adherence to department budget.
- Provides administrative support to daily operations of assigned department.
- Serves as liaison between division/department and external suppliers and vendors.
- Captures department activities with suppliers/vendors.
- Maintains contracts to ensure timely completion and accurate payment schedules.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field
- Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years’ experience with PeopleSoft HCM and Financials or related software
- Previous administrative experience with a large municipality
- One (1) year experience in large scale purchasing environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Purchasing software
