About the role

The Playfly Max Compliance & Accounting Manager will focus on two key responsibilities: (1) manage school settlement, reimbursement, invoicing and compliance workflows for NIL activation and (2) support FP&A related to the Playfly Max NIL business. The Manager will work closely with the Corporate FP&A and Playfly Sports Properties teams, as well as school partners, in a detail-oriented role requiring strong accounting fundamentals, a penchant for accuracy and process improvement, and an ability to manage high-volume financial workstreams end-to-end.

Responsibilities

  • Manage school settlement and reimbursement workflows for NIL activation expenses, including tracking reimbursable costs, confirming required approvals are in place, and maintaining supporting documentation for submission and payment
  • Administer monthly and event-based reimbursement processes with school partners in accordance with contract terms, including collecting backup documentation, monitoring submission timelines, and helping resolve requests for additional support or clarification
  • Work closely with the AR team to prepare and issue monthly expense reimbursement invoices to school partners, track payment status, and follow up on outstanding balances or reimbursement issues
  • Prepare and maintain weekly sales tracking reports to monitor NIL revenue, expenses, and activity against budget and forecast
  • Manage CSC correspondence and related administrative follow-up to support accurate contract, billing, and settlement processes
  • Liaise with school partners on budget and settlement tracking, ensuring alignment on expense reporting, reimbursement status, and financial records
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting for NIL revenue and expenses, including updating projections, tracking assumptions, and identifying variances
  • Assist with financial planning and analysis for ad hoc NIL activities, including evaluating revenue and expense impact, compiling supporting detail, and helping maintain accurate financial reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Background in accounting and/or revenue operations
  • 2-4+ years of work experience
  • Comprehensive proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel), Finance ERP (NetSuite) and AI tools
  • Familiarity with Teamworks Wallet is a plus
  • Background in sports, entertainment, or media is a plus
  • Ability to manage problems end-to-end, thinking through upstream and downstream operational impact
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables
