Compliance Analyst

About the role

Under broad supervision, responsible for compliance-related components of internal controls, such as regulations, data quality, process design, and communication for an assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Implements compliance mechanisms and protocols, internal controls, and regulatory compliance policies and procedures through coordination with others.
• Develops methodology to measure and monitor compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares compliance reports for management.
• Supports development of compliance-related training tools and programs for the department, including economic sanctions, consumer complaints, and more.
• Provides compliance or technical support for business or corporate strategic initiatives.
• Partners with the field and other departments, such as Internal Audit, IT, and Legal, to build relationships supporting compliance accountabilities.
• Stays current on industry trends and developments through interaction with insurance departments and other regulatory bodies.
• Explains facts, policies, and practices related to compliance.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Up to two years of related work experience.

Skills

• Good knowledge of insurance principles, practices, and procedures, with a desire for continuous learning.
• Good understanding of process development and process improvement techniques and methodologies.
• Good understanding of project management practices and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recognize standard situations and issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Creativity in resolving routine and standard business problems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems.

Pay

In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
