Compliance (Affordable Housing)

About the role

The Compliance Specialist at Indigo Real Estate is responsible for reviewing and processing all resident and applicant Tax Credit certification paperwork, processing monthly compliance reports, updating property information into Yardi software, and spot-checking property files and leasing activities for compliance with Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review and process all resident and applicant Tax Credit certification paperwork
• Process monthly compliance reports
• Update property information into Yardi software (units, utility allowances, income, and rent limits)
• Spot-check property files and leasing activities for compliance with Fair Housing laws and regulations

Requirements

• A working knowledge of Tax Credit or affordable housing programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of LIHTC program is a requirement
• Knowledge of YARDI Voyager software, WBARS reporting system, or similar systems is a plus

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of compliance experience
• At least 1-2 years of data entry experience, with proficiency in accurately ensuring, updating, and maintaining large datasets
• Demonstrated experience working with data systems and software tools to ensure accurate and consistent record-keeping
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail, especially in reviewing and validating data for compliance purposes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to exercise quick and accurate judgment and maintain confidentiality
• Effective conflict resolution and customer service skills
• Ability to set priorities and multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment
