About the role

The U.S. Compliance Advisory team advises various internal business partners on how to comply with U.S. regulatory requirements that apply to TransUnion’s products and services. This team is responsible for advising on compliance with U.S. consumer protection laws and regulatory frameworks, as well as relevant laws regulating the telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for advising Communication Solutions on compliance with U.S. regulatory obligations.
  • Lead product reviews for new Communication Solutions products and services, or changes to those products and services, along with other control stakeholders, to assess for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide Risk and Compliance support for the Communications Solutions Cross Functional Leadership Team.
  • Follow Regulatory Change Management procedures by the business in assessing the impact of new laws and developing and executing on action plans implementing those new laws.
  • Follow Issue Management procedures, by supporting internal business clients to self-identify control breaks that could bring harm to our customers and consumers, investigate the root cause of those issues, and identify and track corrective action to remediate any potential harm.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for relevant compliance policies and training.
  • Execute team initiatives, including supporting Risk and Compliance Councils, and periodic Mergers and Acquisition activities.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Audit teams to ensure alignment across the enterprise.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of compliance excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in a compliance organization, including roles in Compliance Advisory, providing compliance advice to business partners on product development
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. consumer protection laws and regulatory frameworks as well as relevant laws regulating the telecommunications industry, including CPNI, Privacy Laws, FCC Regulations, UDAAP, and GLBA
  • Issue and regulatory change management experience
  • The ability to convey complex regulatory concepts clearly in both verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and cross-functional teams, build strong working relationships across business units

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with telecommunication services or brand protection services
  • Experience navigating a highly matrixed organization
  • Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CRCM, CCEP)
