Complex Scheduler (Psychiatry)

About the role

The Complex Scheduler coordinates multiple healthcare services, including appointments, imaging, labs, procedures, and surgeries. Acting as a single point of contact for scheduling, they ensure services are properly timed, sequenced, and completed across various departments and external organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient schedules for appointments, imaging, labs, procedures, and surgeries.
• Provide pre- and post-appointment support to patients and providers.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and external organizations to coordinate care.
• Handle Epic in-basket messages and ensure timely receipt of medical records and test results.
• Prioritize patient needs and resolve scheduling conflicts or issues.
• Ensure safety, cultural sensitivity, and individualized patient care in adherence to organizational standards and policies.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with computer tools, including Microsoft Office and Epic.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• A degree in healthcare or business-related fields.
• Experience with Epic systems or similar healthcare scheduling platforms.
• Telephonic customer service or medical support experience.
