Complex Claims Analyst - Financial Lines - EPL
About the role
We are looking for a Complex Claims Analyst – Financial Lines - EPL. This role can be based in the Alpharetta, GA or Chicago, IL, offices. We are also open to qualified remote candidates, who are not within a reasonable commuting distance of an Allianz Commercial North America office.
Responsibilities
- Investigate claims that involve complex liability issues on primary and excess EPL claims, requiring qualified legal analysis.
- Evaluate and reserve claims, analyzing liability and damages; determining appropriate reserving levels; and selecting and directing independent external service providers (e.g. Lawyers, Independent Adjusters, Experts).
- Analyze coverage to determine if there are coverage issues; communicate coverage positions to insureds and brokers.
- Negotiate and resolve complex EPL claims ensuring cost-effective, service-oriented solutions.
- Ensure claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines.
- Referral and compliance: Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims complex procedures and claims handling guidelines.
- Prepare referral documentation and materials as appropriate.
- Support the establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters.
- Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.
- Proactively liaise with underwriters on market management initiatives and attend industry functions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and brokers as well as internal business partners.
- Positively represent AzC externally to the market and develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, as well as other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).
- Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, Operations.
- Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends.
Requirements
- 5 - 7 years’ experience in proven track record in handling EPL claims involving complex coverage, liability and damage issues.
- Product and Coverages: Detailed understanding of Financial Lines claims products, EPL policy wordings, terms and conditions and coverages.
- Demonstrate established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market.
- Have an expert understanding of Liability products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process.
- Have an in-depth understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape.
- Have an in-depth understanding of legal and regulatory framework.
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
- Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Pay
The annualized base pay range for this role is $112,818 - $170,509. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate.
