Claims Manager, EPL - Financial Lines

About the role

The Claims Manager will be responsible for the active management of EPL (Employment Practices Liability) claims.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate coverage
• Draft coverage correspondence
• Absess appropriate reserves
• Undertake claims investigations
• Manage defense counsel and legal spend
• Absess liability and financial exposure
• Effectively negotiate cost effective, good faith claims resolution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Juris Doctorate preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in the insurance/legal profession dealing specifically with Financial and/or Professional Lines claims
• In-depth understanding of policy language/coverage
• Experience managing, evaluating, mediating and negotiating EPL claims
• In-depth knowledge of the U.S. legal system, civil litigation and ADR proceedings
• Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of federal and state laws applicable to various claims presented under Financial and Professional Lines policies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
