Key Responsibilities
- Manage sophisticated business disputes in state and federal courts
- Handle all phases of complex litigation, from case inception through trial preparation
- Draft dispositive motions, discovery motions, briefs and other substantive filings
- Conduct legal research and develop strategic litigation positions
- Manage factual development and written discovery processes
- Conduct and defend depositions, including coordinating expert discovery
- Prepare cases for trial and support courtroom proceedings
- Cook large-scale document reviews and address eDiscovery issues
- Work directly with clients to provide practical, business-focused legal advice
- Collaborate effectively within leanly staffed litigation teams
Who You Are
- 5th–7th year associate
- Significant experience handling complex commercial litigation matters
- Experience involving breach of contract disputes, business torts, fiduciary duty claims, bankruptcy litigation, securities matters and/or regulatory investigations
- Strong motion practice and brief-writing experience
- Experience managing written discovery, depositions and expert discovery
- Trial preparation experience
- Experience with eDiscovery issues and large-scale document productions
- Strong project management skills and sound judgement
- Exceptional legal research, analytical and writing abilities
- Experience at a top law firm with a nationally recognised litigation practice strongly preferred
- Federal district court or appellate clerkship experience preferred
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for prompt admission
Compensation
Salary Range: $310,000 – $420,000 (DOE)
