Complex Litigation Associate

About the role
We're looking for an experienced litigation attorney (5-8 years) with a strong background in complex commercial litigation who is eager to take on sophisticated work as part of a collaborative national litigation team. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and takes ownership of their work. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes alongside experienced litigators while receiving meaningful responsibility from Day One.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
- Trial experience.
- In good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Comfortable with multi-jurisdictional litigation, cross-border matters beyond just breach of contract.
- Experience litigating in federal courts.
- Ability to independently manage significant portions of a case, including drafting dispositive motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and supporting trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
- Produce thoughtful, concise, and high-quality work product with strong attention to detail.
- Exercise sound judgment and proactively identify issues and solutions without requiring close supervision.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing timely updates and practical recommendations.
- Highly responsive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple active matters simultaneously.
- Enjoy collaborating with a national team on sophisticated business disputes involving a wide range of industries.
- Thrive professionally when trying new things—not just a copy-and-paste attorney.

Pay
Scale operates on a non-traditional business model designed to reward performance and collaboration. Associates receive:
- Base Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 based on experience.
- Production bonuses beginning at 1,250 billed hours annually.
- Origination payouts for matters they bring to the firm.
- Health insurance premium contributions.
