About the role
This position supports internal and external customers by creating design and manufacturing data for aircraft interiors and exteriors. You will develop detailed aircraft interior layout drawings, conduct design reviews, and assist with innovative solutions for custom requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed aircraft interior layout drawings from written customer specifications.
- Conduct reviews with internal Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing groups to evaluate and finalize design drawings for external customer approval.
- Create 2D drawings and 3D models to support the manufacturing of exterior paint schemes.
- Create 2D drawings for flooring layouts and other manufacturing aids.
- Create and maintain drawings to reflect evolving Program, Customer, and/or Engineering requirements.
- Assist Sales and Engineering with innovative solutions for custom requirements.
- Conduct research on existing drawings, hardware, and vendor parts related to job tasks.
- Evaluate customer requirements and provide design recommendations.
- Identify design problems and propose solutions.
- Coordinate design work with other departments, engineers, and designers to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Enforce safety rules and ensure compliance with Gulfstream regulations and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Design Engineering, or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Proficiency in operating CAD equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with business aircraft cabin design and development.
- Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 25 regulatory requirements.
This is a full-time position with up to 25% travel required.
