Essential Job Functions
The Compensation Technician position will be responsible for payroll processing, analysis, auditing, and monitoring of payroll in the office of American Pay Processing (CGFS/GC/PPR/AMP).
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, research, analyze, and process pay actions under Additional Entitlements such as Communications Differential, Danger Pay, Departure for Post, Extraordinary Quarters Allowance (EQM), Language Incentive Pay (LIP), etc.
- Receive, research, analyze, and process pay actions under Remaining Deductions such as Advance of Pay, Garnishments, Official Residence Expense (ORE), etc.
- Audits, analyzes, and reconciles reports or accounts, and as necessary, makes adjustments which are largely retroactive in nature.
- Prepares reports on various aspects of the payroll cycle, as requested by DoS.
Skills
- Superior multi-tasking, customer service, analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with computer-based applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, and database management systems. MS Excel and MS Word experience at an intermediate level is required.
Qualifications
- Senior level experience in any of the following is preferred but not required: management, budget, program analysis, procurement, personnel management, auditing, or inspecting with significant experience reviewing foreign affairs operations.
Work Schedule
The employee will work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 6:15 am to 6:00 pm with a non-compensated 30, 45, or 60 minute lunch (See your Project Manager for work schedule and department policies). Additional hours may be required and must be authorized by your Project Manager and DoS Management. This is an onsite position.
