Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age
• Active (non‑retired) police officer
• High School Diploma or GED
• Police ID, VPEC, and firearm certification
• North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification
• Licensing requirements as required by state or local laws
• Willingness to attend periodic training sessions and seminars and maintain firearm proficiency
• Ability to work in various environments (cold, rain/snow, heat)
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
• Occasionally climb stairs, ramps, or ladders
• Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods

Responsibilities

• Perform general law enforcement duties including patrolling hospital campus, checking property, conducting room searches, and maintaining order and public safety
• Issue traffic and parking citations; apprehend, question, and arrest suspects
• Collect and preserve evidence; conduct investigations
• Respond to and assist in all medical emergencies
• Assist in conducting fire drills and evacuating buildings
• Provide security escorts for personnel and chauffeur division heads and visitors as requested
• Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars; maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms
• Perform other duties as required to meet the client’s needs
