Full-time (40 hours) and part-time (20-24 hours) positions available. Non-exempt role reporting to the Community Supports Director.
About the Role
Provide effective, efficient delivery of services to consumers with developmental disabilities in their natural homes.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted and goal-oriented supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Deliver direct care supports and training to increase consumer independence.
- Participate in the development of Individual Support Plans (ISP).
- Teach daily living skills to consumers where barriers have been identified per ISP.
- Seek new community-connection opportunities to increase consumer independence.
- Support consumers in learning appropriate responses to real-life situations.
- Complete emergency drills and required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and consumer team regarding progress and issues.
- Complete all required documentation per funder and agency guidelines, including progress logs and data collection.
- Submit documentation to supervisor to meet deadlines.
- Complete all required trainings by deadlines.
- Maintain high professional standards and engage in professional development activities.
- Follow all personnel, facility, and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities highly preferred.
- Knowledge of disabilities and special needs populations (preferred).
- Knowledge of resources within the county.
- Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write effectively in English.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, plan, and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and basic computer skills (required).
- Must be certified in CPR and first aid within 60 days of hire (training provided).
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance required; ability to travel independently.
- Ability to obtain a Class E Missouri license within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to continually walk or stand for up to 3 hours and lift, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
