Community Support Professional - Full Time

About the role

Lifetime Assistance seeks a Community Support Professional to provide independent, one‑on‑one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Rochester, NY area. This full‑time position (30‑40 hours per week) offers flexible scheduling between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM to align with case needs and personal availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, in‑home support to individuals in various neighborhoods without on‑site supervision.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, and budgeting.
• Transport individuals to appointments or community events using a personal vehicle.
• Manage verbal escalations and crisis situations with a calm, emotionally regulated demeanor.
• Act as a direct mentor, allowing natural consequences while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Maintain detailed, accurate documentation and uphold safety expectations.

Requirements

• Valid, clean NYS driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle meeting agency Motor Vehicle Operating Requirements.
• Prior experience preferred (OPWDD, OMH, CNA, or home‑based support), especially with dual diagnosis, mental health needs, and verbal aggression management.
• Self‑starter mindset with the ability to find resources and solve problems independently.
• Comfortable supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and adapting to changing needs.
• Highly responsive and communicative, even while working remotely in the field.

Pay

Hourly rate: $19.49 – $20.52 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement.

Schedule

Full‑time position offering 30‑40 hours per week. Case needs are available between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, with flexibility required to accommodate occasional changes in individual needs or circumstances.
