About the role
The Community Support Supervisor at AHRC New York City is responsible for developing direction for service with clear philosophy and expectations toward personal future planning and community inclusion. They foster independence, productivity, and community inclusion of individuals served while protecting their health, safety, well-being, and civil rights.
Responsibilities
- Develops activities to implement a philosophy of personal future planning and community inclusion.
- Fosters independence, productivity, and community inclusion of individuals served.
- Ensures individualized habilitation plans are consistent with service plans and documented progress.
- Facilitates and supports the development and maintenance of individual support networks.
- Coordinates and participates in direct support staff training and in-services.
- Evaluates assigned support staff on an ongoing basis and develops appropriate goals for staff.
- Safeguards individuals' safety and promotes their health and well-being by monitoring safety issues, coordinating medical support, and responding to emergencies.
- Enhances staff relations through effective communication, growth, teamwork, conflict resolution, and support.
- Maintains compliance with New York State Home and Community-Based Waiver Services regulations, agency philosophies, and policies.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Business Management or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
