About the role

The Community Support Specialist (CSS) or Employment Specialist at TeamBuilders is responsible for carrying out vocational, rehabilitation, and support functions and assisting in treatment; education, support, and consultation to families; psychoeducation; and crisis intervention. The CSS coordinates and provides services and resources to adult clients necessary to promote recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency. They work in collaboration with all staff and treatment team members.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake, strengths-needs assessment, triage, safety planning, care coordination, in-home skills therapeutic activities, crisis intervention services, and Plan of Care development/implementation/evaluation.
  • Work in partnership with clients to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Provide psychoeducation and support to clients and their families.
  • Coordinate and provide services and resources necessary for client recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency.
  • Assist in treatment and education, support, and consultation to families.
  • Participate in crisis intervention services.
  • Collaborate with all staff and treatment team members.

Requirements

  • Must meet one of the following minimum education and experience requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field plus 1 year of experience working with SMI adults;
  • Associate degree in a human services related field plus 2 years of experience working with SMI adults;
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development plus 3 years of experience working with SMI adults;
  • Meets the minimum requirements as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) by the State of New Mexico.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals impacted by mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Criminal Records Clearance (local, state, and FBI).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching the curriculum to consumer family members.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service area.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
