Community Support - DSP

About the role

We are seeking compassionate and motivated Community Habilitation Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Teaching new skills
• Assisting in achieving life goals
• Planning community activities
• Working independently or with a team to support individuals in building independence and life skills
• Providing personalized support in various settings, including at home and in the community, with a focus on empowering individuals to grow and develop

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Experience in caregiving or with developmental disabilities preferred
• Empathy
• Excellent communication
• Energy
• Creativity
• Team‑oriented approach

Requirements

• Mandatory training and background clearances
• Valid NYS driver’s license with insurance
• Own vehicle
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Physical capability to perform duties
