Community Service Aide - Neenah Police

About the role

The Neenah Police Department is seeking students to serve as Community Service Aides. This role offers valuable experience in various aspects of law enforcement, including report writing, information gathering, and enforcing local ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Report writing and information gathering
• Proper radio etiquette
• Using mobile data computers
• A better understanding of the criminal justice system
• General overview of police officer duties
• Miscellaneous duties such as parking enforcement, vehicle lockouts, traffic control, paper service, found property, enforcing animal and parking ordinances, and vacant home checks

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Must be a high school graduate
• Emphasis given to those enrolled in a Criminal Justice Program
• Criminal history must not reflect a felony conviction
• Drug screen required prior to employment
• Must successfully complete all department training sessions

Pay and Schedule

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour. The job will be split between Community Service hours and Parking Enforcement shifts. Shifts will be arranged to accommodate your school schedule and training will be provided. Uniforms and equipment are provided by the department.
