About the role

The Community Safety Ambassador Lead provides on-the-ground leadership, guidance, and support to frontline ambassadors while continuing to perform ambassador duties in the field. This position bridges the gap between ambassadors and supervisory staff by ensuring patrol coverage, modeling best practices, and serving as the first point of contact for routine questions, minor escalations, and real-time coaching needs. The purpose of the role is to strengthen field operations, improve consistency and accountability, and enhance communication within the team. By combining active patrol responsibilities with peer leadership, the Ambassador Lead helps create a safer, more welcoming environment for community members and ensures that supervisors can focus on higher level program oversight and coordination.

This position is temporary for 2026 and will become a permanent position in 2027. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
