Community Residence Counselor – Intensive Diagnostic Program

About the role

The Community Residence Counselor (CRC) position at The Pavilion at McLean Hospital is a Weekend Package position requiring a committed weekend schedule. Employees in this role receive additional compensation and benefits associated with the Weekend Package. Additional details regarding the schedule and package incentives will be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in accordance with the current treatment plan, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, and Charge Nurse.
• Provides and supervises community activities as needed.
• Remains awake and alert at all times while on the job.
• Aids patients in maintaining and keeping various appointments.
• Completes assigned patient care tasks per program guidelines and/or daily assignment sheet.
• Works effectively to manage the therapeutic milieu.
• Provides patients with direction and supervision as needed.
• Follows established hospital & program policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Communicates information regarding patient milieu/therapeutic environment to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Communicates observations related to medication side effects, physical and emotional changes to appropriate medical staff in a timely manner.
• Encourages patients in their activities of daily living.
• Affirms sleep patterns and assists patients to develop more appropriate sleep cycles, notifying the clinical team as necessary.
• Completes mandatory annual in-service requirements, including but not limited to: CPR and de-escalation.
• Attends and participates in rounds and case conferences when appropriate.
• Supports residents with daily routines, medication reminders, meal preparation, transportation, and personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
• No experience in lieu of a degree.
• Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred.

• Basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems (PRISM) for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
• Familiarity with Epic is preferred.
• Ability to drive, including transporting patients, may be required based on role and location.
