About the Role

As an employee-owner at Scheels, you’ll contribute to a culture focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences, fostering teamwork, embracing change, and upholding honesty and integrity. This role involves assisting with store leadership, marketing initiatives, and community engagement to drive brand growth and sales.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with store leadership and Scheels Campus Marketing, developing comprehensive event and promotion opportunities to increase store traffic and sales.
  • Manage public relations with store associates to ensure understanding and buy-in for promotions or events.
  • Seek and recommend community engagement opportunities to enhance the Scheels brand, and manage approved initiatives.
  • Serve as the store liaison for Scheels Campus Marketing, overseeing store media (TV, radio, print, website, social media, pro-staff, events, co-op, vendors, graphic design, and training).
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the Scheels brand and culture to manage public relations between Scheels, customers, and the community via digital and media platforms.
  • Provide project status updates to store leadership and the Scheels Campus team.
  • Assist in creating and managing the marketing office budget.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Associate to generate, edit, publish, and share content across all social platforms.
  • Oversee Scheels sponsorships and Pro Staff by reviewing contracts, hosting meetings, attending events, and evaluating performance.
  • Work assigned schedules, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel/overnight stays (2-3 weekend days and 2-3 weeknights per month).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; 2-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Medium work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Associates are expected to follow safety procedures to minimize injury risk.

Pay

Starting salary: $40,000–$43,000 annually.
