Community Recruitment Coordinator

About the role

Wevise is on a mission to level the playing field in tech by providing mentorship, training, and career opportunities to underserved and disadvantaged people. The organization runs two programs: a free, on‑demand mentorship platform and the TechPath Alliance, a city‑focused 6‑month mentoring and career development program piloted in Chicago, IL. This volunteer position will help find and welcome the next cohort of participants—both mentees and mentors—giving you real ownership, direct access to leadership, and a front‑row seat to building an early‑stage business.

Responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to potential mentees and mentors through online communities, job boards, and partner organizations.
• Conduct phone screens with candidates to assess fit and surface any questions for the team.
• Guide accepted participants through onboarding and ensure they are ready before the program begins.

Qualifications

• Genuinely enjoy talking to people and making them feel seen and excited.
• Highly organized and able to keep tasks from falling through the cracks.
• Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Background in recruiting, community organizing, social work, education, sales, or any role focused on connecting people to opportunities.
• Passionate about economic mobility and committed to making a meaningful impact.
