COMMUNITY RECOVERY SPECIALIST
About the role
The Community Recovery Specialist provides daily support for residents in relation to daily living, self-care, and support related to treatment. The role involves modeling behavior consistent with treatment outcomes, facilitating individual and group counseling, and adhering to RHD values.
Responsibilities
- Support residents in skill building areas such as independent living, employment, education, money management, medication management, transportation, meal preparation, shopping, housing searches, roommate matching, and social skills development.
- Avoid appointments, follow up with medical care, and manage medications for residents.
- Manage a caseload of 1-3 residents with the goal of moving them onto a lesser level of care within one year.
- Implement Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles using the phase system, service planning, skill building, goal planning, and community integration.
- Keep detailed documentation of progress through daily notes, service-planning, goal documentation, and medication monitoring/MAR.
- Attend weekly team meetings, engage in supervision with the site lead (at least once a month), attend monthly all-staff meetings, and meet with the psychiatric rehabilitation specialist as needed to address barriers in service planning and skill building.
- Ensure compliance with all programmatic and corporate procedures and protocols.
- Inform management of any incidents affecting staff, residents, or the program.
- Conduct oneself professionally, fairly, and compassionately at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with individuals diagnosed with mental health or IDD.
- Current and valid driver’s license with ability to travel as needed.

Schedule
Full-time overnight position with a schedule of Sun-Thurs 11pm-7am.
