About the role

The University of Edinburgh Sport & Exercise is offering a fixed-term opportunity (until 31st July 2027) to coordinate the operational aspects of our community engagement programme. This role supports the Head of Active Wellbeing and Community Programmes in delivering impactful sport-based activities to local communities across Edinburgh and the Lothians, aligning with the University’s Community Plan. You will help set programme direction, deliver regular activities to community groups, and liaise with University students, staff, and community partners to support volunteers and foster collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Active Wellbeing and Community Programmes in setting the direction of the community engagement programme.
  • Coordinate and deliver regular sport sessions for community groups.
  • Liaise with University students and staff to recruit and support volunteers.
  • Collaborate with community groups to enhance engagement and impact.
  • Contribute to creating fun, inclusive, and positive environments for young people through sport.

Requirements

  • Understanding of how sport can positively impact young people’s lives.
  • Experience in delivering and coordinating sport sessions.
  • Ability to create engaging, inclusive environments.
  • Flexible, proactive, and eager to develop new skills.

Pay

£26,093 - £28,778 per annum (UE04 grade).

Schedule

Full-time: 35 hours per week.
