Community Partnerships Coordinator
About the Role
The Office of Service-Learning (OSL) is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and self-directed professional to coordinate and expand an after-school literacy and sports coaching program. The successful candidate will have a unique professional opportunity to provide essential leadership for expanding a community after-school program that can serve as a model throughout the state to enrich literacy instruction and provide increased access to youth sports programs. The OSL serves as a hub for campus and community collaborations and works with over 100 community partners each year. This full-time position will report to the assistant director for community partnerships in the Office of Service-Learning.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of after-school program
- Supervise graduate assistant and Lead Success Coaches
- Manage student workers
- Facilitate UGA service-learning projects and recruiting UGA student volunteers
- Develop and deliver training and preparation for UGA students involved in the after-school program
- Work with internal and external partners to evaluate program success
Key Activities
- Working with assistant director and school district personnel to develop after-school program
- Developing a plan to scale program to more schools
- Leading recruitment and training of student volunteers necessary to operate the program
- Developing a plan to assess and report on the impact of the after-school program
- Coordinating communication, marketing, and social media efforts
- Ensuring compliance with UGA Programs Serving Minors policy
- Recruitment, training and supervision of graduate assistants and Lead Success Coaches
- Providing necessary reporting and documentation for Experiential Learning requirements and CLR
- Providing direction and support for Lead Success Coaches
- Working with faculty and departments to connect service-learning courses to the after-school program
- Developing recruitment, training, and preparation for UGA students involved in the after-school program
- Managing platforms to coordinate volunteer and other technology platforms to coordinate placements, training, and communication
- Coordinating tabling and recruiting events
- Coordinating meetings with campus, community, and district partners as necessary
- Communicating with UGA colleges and units on opportunities to partner
- Reporting on program progress to internal and external partners
- Raising awareness of program
- Seeking additional grant and funding sources to sustain program
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an educational setting or in a community-based program serving youth or college-aged students
- Experience managing volunteers
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organization skills
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners, both internal and external to UGA
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks and to resolve problems or conflicts in a mature and professional way
- Demonstrated experience working with a wide variety of constituencies
- Ability to complete accurate and timely reporting in compliance with stated guidelines
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm
