About the role
This role supports the F-Southwest region, including Burleson, Cleburne, Granbury, Stephenville, South Fort Worth, Glen Rose, and Keene. Key service areas are Burleson, Cleburne, Granbury, and Stephenville, with travel required throughout the territory.
The Consultant is responsible for promoting the Carter BloodCare (CBC) mission, implementing effective strategies to recruit, manage, and maintain relationships with sponsor organizations, and achieving successful blood collection events while meeting established blood collection goals. The Consultant is responsible for retention of current accounts, developing new accounts, and building strong relationships with account blood drive coordinators.
This position requires regular personal interaction and coordination with other employees, as well as face-to-face interaction with members of the public, actual and potential sponsors of blood drives, and/or donors. Responsibilities include education, planning, and ongoing support to account blood drive coordinators to ensure sponsors host successful and productive blood drives.
Responsibilities
- Retain current accounts and develop new accounts
- Build strong relationships with account blood drive coordinators
- Educate, plan, and provide ongoing support to account blood drive coordinators
- Maintain complete and accurate sponsor account information in an electronic Customer Relations management software system
- Work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- Travel and conduct face-to-face sales calls with potential sponsors of blood drives
- Manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive timelines
- Maintain donor confidentiality
- Use a systematic approach to define and solve problems
- Organize successful, efficient blood drives to meet collection goals
- Make presentations before internal and external groups, and perform cold calls
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred), or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or account relationship management
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Ability to work closely and harmoniously with the CBC management team, departmental personnel, donor groups, individual donors, collection staff, and volunteers
- Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to persuade and convince potential donors and drive coordinators with effective presentation skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-initiative
Physical/Mental Stress Factors
- Ability to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and carry equipment weighing up to approximately 15 pounds
- Normal vision requirements

- Ability to clearly speak, hear, and write
- Stress related to setting, meeting, or exceeding departmental goals
- Periodic exposure to traffic hazards; ability to drive to and from remote locations routinely
- Ability to travel (including by air) to attend seminars, workshops, training, events, and to visit other blood centers

- Experience with handling sensitive issues relating to customer service
- Ability to experience and overcome rejection
Pay
The starting pay for this position is $60,800 annually; compensation may be higher based on years of verifiable experience.
