Community Partnership Worker
About the role
Acorns Children’s Hospice is seeking a Community Partnership Worker for its Worcester hospice to develop a peer support programme and youth leadership programme. The goal is to increase grief literacy by working closely with schools and community organizations.
Responsibilities
- Map community assets across Acorns regions
- Create resources covering topics important to young people
- Facilitate workshops and focus groups to promote a public health approach to palliative and end-of-life care
- Identify external funding opportunities through collaborative partnerships
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with communities
Requirements
- Experience in developing community partnerships
- Able to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of asset-based community development and compassionate communities principles and practices
- Competent IT skills
Qualifications
Eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check for children and provide two satisfactory references. They must also provide evidence of immunization against specific diseases or confirm willingness to receive vaccinations.
Skills
Knowledge of the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child and commitment to supporting children's rights.
