Community Operations

About the role

Notion’s Community team brings our mission to life through people: a global network of passionate builders who teach, share, and create across every kind of workflow and craft. Across our core Ambassador and Campus Leader programs, and our broader community of enthusiastic Notion users, we’re building a global ecosystem of people who teach, share, create, and help others get more out of Notion.

Responsibilities

  • Design the operational engine behind Notion Community.
  • Build the systems, workflows, tooling, and infrastructure that allow global community programs to scale with consistency, clarity, and care.
  • Own the operational experience behind programs—onboarding, member support, reimbursements, swag logistics, vendor coordination, and event operations—so it’s reliable and thoughtful across regions.
  • Define how we measure impact: operational standards, data hygiene, reporting cadences, and insights that turn community activity into decisions.
  • Increase scale and effectiveness through integrations, automations, and AI-enabled workflows that reduce manual overhead and let program teams focus on relationships and builder value.

Requirements

  • Deep Notion expertise: you can design scalable databases, workflows, automations, and operational systems that hold up as the program grows.
  • Systems fluency across modern community + ops tooling (e.g., Slack, Luma, Zapier, SwagUp, Tremendous, Discord, Hex) and good judgment about when to simplify vs. add tooling.
  • Strong ownership and a bias toward shipping: you proactively spot gaps, build from scratch, and iterate toward clearer, more durable systems.
  • Operational judgment and attention to detail: you can run complex workflows, maintain quality, and make process improvements stick.
  • Practical AI fluency: you use Notion AI (and AI-enabled workflows) to streamline work, improve support, and raise the team’s leverage.
  • You’ve supported member-facing programs or ecosystems where relationships, responsiveness, and experience quality deeply matter.
  • You’ve worked globally or across regions and understand how to build operational systems that maintain consistency while still allowing thoughtful localization for different markets and community needs.
